Picture
Esther Hazzard - Chair

Esther has a passion for helping people. With over 20 years of working alongside children and parents in a healthcare setting, she strongly believes that families will grow and thrive when they are equipped with the right support. As a Registered Nurse and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Esther has worked in many hospitals, an NGO in West Africa, and in her local community. She has been a part of vision committees, a BFI representative, and welcomes preceptorship opportunities for new nurses. The majority of her role currently focuses on Perinatal services for families in the community where she offers in-home consultation and support.

Esther’s passion for Women and Children's Health has been present throughout her career but flourished after the birth of her own four precious children. Her experience as a new mother being surrounded by a community of support was so empowering that she aspires to see other families benefit and succeed in their journeys. With an interest in perinatal services and leadership, she has a strong desire to effectively contribute as a member of Family Rootz Alliance Board of Directors.
